Born in Melbourne, Australia - in 1966 - with a heritage including Aboriginal, Chinese, French and Welsh. I had a haphazard childhood - after my parents divorced I lived with my Grandparents for a while, in Box Hill - then with my father in Ringwood and finally with my mother in Croydon.
I attended five different primary schools - due to moving from pillar to post - but then settled in one High school and completed Year 11. After a tumultuous time in my teens, (the 80's was a great era!) - I became a barefoot hippy, then an Accounts' Clerk, a mother to the awesome Zachary! Then I held several positions at Centrelink - such as Customer Service Officer, Indigenous Contact Officer, Training Facilitator, Union Delegate and Occupational Health and Safety Rep.
Then I met my wonderful husband - Robert - online. Accidentally, I might add! My friend Julie and I were checking to see when Danzig were going to tour Australia. On the bottom of their web page was a link to Gothic Match. For fun - we both set up profiles and Robert contacted me.
He lived in Nashville, and even though I had always scoffed at people who dated online - I found myself drawn to him - and we talked for the next year, which led to me flying over to meet him in person. It was kismet - as though we were meant to be together. He proposed - I said yes - we made arrangements and after another torturous year of waiting and tying up loose ends, I immigrated to the U.S.
We married in 2008 and are still in wedded bliss - with two naughty cats and a home of our own. I have been a Career Development Specialist since arriving, then a HR Technician and since 1/5/16 - a full time Author and Freelancer!
Writing has always been my passion. When I was little I would write my own little books and staple them together. I set up my own library, wrote out library cards and labels - then tried to make my brothers join. I loved to read Enid Blyton's Magic Faraway books, The Children of Green Knowe by Lucy Boston and The Railway Children - among many others.
When I got older I started writing poetry and didn't attempt to write novels until I was nineteen. I fell in love with the Beat writers, Angela Carter, Anais Nin and Henry Miller. I also read Kafka, Lovecraft - anything but romance novels!
Ever since I can remember - I have had hypnagogic and hypnopompic hallucinations - sleep paralysis, and have been astral projecting from an early age. I have always been fascinated with dreams and love reading Jung and researching mythology.
I love music and have quite an eclectic taste - although Tool is my favorite band. I'm a metal head - but I adore Kate Bush, Concrete Blonde, Filter, Soulfly, Machinehead, Francoise Hardy, Arcana, Faun, classical, folk and so on.
I've seen many bands live - including Tool (twice), Marilyn Manson, Slayer, Machinehead, Pantera, Rollins Band (and Henry Rollins spoken word - many times!), Danzig, Morphine (R.I.P. Mark Sandman), Celtic Frost, Mark of Cain, Devil Driver, Lamb of God, The Angels...
